- Get 200 g 70% dark chocolate
- Prepare 150 g butter
- Take 225 g caster sugar
- Provide 2 tsps vanilla extract
- Use 2 large eggs

- Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas 4. Butter and line a 20cm/8in square baking tin (4cm deep at least) with baking parchment.
- Break the chocolate into pieces and add it with the butter into a large heavy based pan. The original recipe recommends you use a heatproof bowl on top of a simmering pan of water, but if you're really careful and use the lowest setting it's safe to melt the chocolate on a direct heat.
